Configuring Your Avamar Monitoring & Reporting

Avamar Backup Monitoring Benefits
Bocada automatically collects data on Avamar backup, storage, and policies. Users can monitoring and report on a variety of metrics including backup start and end times, errors, and bytes sizes as well as storage media volume counts and status.
To begin your Avamar integration with Bocada:
1. Verify that required TCP ports are open
2. Verify the location of the Avamar database ‘mcdb’ on the Avamar server
3. If necessary, modify the pg_hba.conf file to allow remote access
4. Add the Avamar server to Bocada under Operations > Backup Servers, and set Server Properties

Added Avamar Policy Name to the Bocada data field, “Job Group” to better identify jobs in reports and enhance automation when assigning clients to zones via rules.
